Piers Morgan's Extremely Eloquent Final Comments on Gun Control

29 comments:

  1. Ah yes. He eloquently exposed that he thinks guns--not "assault weapons"--guns period--belong on the battlefield and not in civilian hands.

Torn between being glad to see him get his hands whacked and being sad he's gone because he was so good at driving people our way.

    Adios muchacho.

    1. I don't think he drove people your way.

    2. Think what you want all you want. He energized lethargic people on our side and pushed some of the fence sitters over. Denial won't change that.

    3. No, I really think it was the opposite of that. The pro-gun guys like yourself reacted strongly to him because he made good sense and non-gun people, fence sitters and naturally gun control folks found him very persuasive.

    4. "Persuasive"? He just said that guns don't belong in civilian hands, despite also clarifying that he believes most Americans to be good people. Wouldn't the gun control movement want to distance themselves from statement like that, and not call it "extremely eloquent"?

    5. No, I don't think so. He should be placed at the forefront of the movement. I'm not sure if what he said about "civilian hands" was meant to be total civilian disarmament. I think he feels like I do, that people need to be better qualified for gun ownership.

    6. "And that's where I think guns belong. On a military battlefield in the hands of highly trained men and women fighting for democracy and freedom- NOT in the hands of civilians"

How are you misreading this, Mike?

    7. I know that's what he said, but it seemed to be possible that he was talking about the "military style" weapons that are found on the battlefield and not all guns. But it doesn't matter much. Even if he wants total civilian disarmament, so what?

    8. So you are saying that not only does he want to remove “military style” weapons from the hands of civilians, but he want to also remove actual military weapons from the hands of highly trained men and women protecting the butts of British soldiers next to them in the trenches, and replace them with semi-automatic guns that are styled like their old guns.

  2. And the pompous, sanctimonious twit is fired. May he starve and freeze to death in a reeking, garbage-filled back alley.

    2. Are we to believe you respect the entire bill of rights? Why don't you point out an example where I disparaged rights other than gun rights? Or is this just a baseless allegation of which you are guilty of.

  4. We're the kind of people that a British soldier wants beside him in a firefight becasue we know guns. But Morgan is anti-American. He hates our values and how we do things. Good riddance to him. I don't expect Britain to take him back, though.

    1. Not after those photoshopped pics of British Soldiers.

    2. Greg, I don't think he's anti-American. Your remark just goes to show what a monomaniac you are about gun rights. Or, can you provide some evidence, which you always demand from others, of his anti-Americanism?

    3. Mikeb, you know the evidence as well as the rest of us. He opposes our values and our way of running our country. Do you disagree? Of course you do. But you've left this country, and like Morgan, you still yearn to meddle.

    4. Greg, your waffling. I asked for evidence of his anti-Americanism. Got any, other than his gun ideas?

    5. He never said he opposed our values, or our Democratic Republic. He said he thought the way we handle our gun situation is crazy. Given 30,000 gunshot deaths per year and 10's of thousands more gun injuries, and the fact that our gun problem is the worst in civilized nations, he has a good point which millions of Americans agree with. Do you think even non American citizens have a right to free speech and voicing an opinion?

    6. Mikeb, when will you learn that when I give you an answer that you don't like, it's still an answer? A person's stance on gun control is a good test of whether that person supports American values or not. If you support gun control, you're anti-American.

    7. I've accused you before of being a one-issue voter. Thanks for confirming it. But, reasonable people understand there's more to it than gun rights, a lot more. In fact, a staunch position on gun control could be viewed as more American than what you profess which is that the kids who die every day are too few to worry about. In other words, you are more un-American than Piers Morgan. What a laugh.

  5. "But Morgan is anti-American. He hates our values and how we do things. Good riddance to him."
Your opinion is based in hate. Just because you disagree with his stance on guns, please give your proof that he hates America, as your blanket statement says. Millions of Americans agree completely with his stance on guns. Are you saying they also should leave the country?

    1. Freedom is at the core of American values. He hates freedom.

    3. By the way, a democratic republic like ours is not the only system of government that promotes and protects freedom.

    4. Name another system that does the same.

    5. You are kidding right? You don't think any other governmental system in the world also promotes and protects freedoms for their people?

  6. Important errors in Piers Morgan "eloquent" last speech on guns at the end of his show on CNN
It is amazing how many errors can be made in a short talk.
