Tragic: Mother-of-four Tammy Meyers, 44, was shot in the head in an apparent road rage attack on Thursday
Mother-of-four Tammy Meyers, 44, was shot in the head in an apparent road rage attack on Thursday

The Daily Mail

A mother teaching her 14-year-old daughter to drive has been shot in the head in an apparent road-rage attack in Las Vegas.

Police believe the shooter followed 44-year-old Tammy Meyers and her youngest daughter home from a school parking lot on Thursday before opening fire.

Mrs Meyers, 44, let her daughter take the wheel of the family's green Buick Park Avenue in a nearby school parking lot when a silver four-door sedan that had been following them passed and hit the brakes, Robert Meyers said.

She steered around the car and continued driving home. Meyers said she sent their daughter into the house before the shooting. He described the girl as emotionally distraught.

Meyers said their adult son emerged from their house and fired several shots with a handgun at the fleeing car.

  1. All I can say is good job in regards to the son shooting back.

    1. Are you kidding? Shooting at a fleeing vehicle in a residential neighborhood???

    2. The father believes the son to be a hero and regrets not being home at the time to have had a chance to have the scumbags perforated and waiting for the coroner to show.

Not sure I believe the son to be a hero but a good son for sure....justice will find those responsible

    3. Please explain why he's a good son.

    4. "Please explain why he's a good son."....For having the courage and presence of mind to protect his family from the evil they encountered on that day... Without him returning fire its possible the scumbags would have gotten out of the car to find his sister instead of retreating..For that he is a good son unfortunately he could not save his mother as he did his sister

    5. Man, I thought I was the one to read things into the stories. You really saw a lot that's not there, of course, to justify the trigger-happy gun owner.

  2. This woman unfortunately has since passed..The Daily Mail did a horrible job fact checking....This did not start at the school..it started on the way home and the mother was driving police think she was driving slowly and that this angered the occupants of the other car which there is believed to be at least four of ...there were words exchanged between the cars the victim was then followed to her residence where the shooting occurred...Its is unknown for sure which occupant of the criminals vehicle fired the shots......This type of incident has happened several times in here in LV and is usually gang members looking for someone to kill who have perpetrated the crime though the identity of the scum bags in this incident are as of yet unknown......may the victims find peace and the scumbags be found perforated

  3. I suppose he was to busy shooting at the car (no telling if his bullets might have entered a near by home) to get the license plate number, description of the car, description of the driver, or any other helpful information.

    1. Since the armed confrontation occurred at their home, the priority rightfully should be immediate defense. It appears they have a video of the encounter and the possibility of bullet holes will set the car apart from other similar looking cars.

"Police posted a video on its department website of the suspect’s vehicle driving down a street and also released a composite sketch of the suspect, a white male about 25 years old. The vehicle may have bullet damage, police said."

    2. Is that the real ssgmarkcr? You're seriously condoning the idea of shooting at a vehicle? You're seriouisly claiming that putting some bullet holes in the car is a good thing for the investigation and therefore worth doing?

    3. I thought your link was the video, no. In fact that link was less than what Mike posted. When you have something, get back.
It's nice you think spraying bullets in a residential area, is a good idea.

Read my comment again Mike. If you come out and someone is shooting at you or yours from inside the car, you're completely justified in shooting back. The bullet holes being useful in identifying the vehicle is a side benefit.
I imagine that as time goes by, we'll eventually see the video of the encounter and get a better idea of the circumstances. If the police have a beef with the son's shooting they can pursue it.

    5. Very unclear writing, but if the damage and bullet holes are both to the driver's side door, then all I can say is good shooting.

"The suspect was roughly described as a 6-foot, 180-pound white man in his mid-20s with dirty blond hair in a spiked style. The suspect vehicle was described as a four-door grey or silver sedan with possible bullet holes and damage to the front driver's side of the vehicle."

    6. Heartening to see the son come out with a serious firearm. No half-measures.

"Robert Meyers said his son came out with a shotgun and fired back at the suspect vehicle, which had three occupants."

    7. The article I posted said he used a handgun. And the idea that he came out of the house and began firing reminded me of all the stories we read about supposed legitimate DGUs where the gun owner shoots at the back of a fleeing criminal. It sounded to me that's what the "good son" did.

    8. I guess we shall see. If damage I cited is in the side, then it doesnt sound like he was shooting at tail lights. I've also seen the handgun versions. Either one works for me. Eventually the story will solidify and when the assailant and the car is found, we can see how well he did.

    9. But, aren't you one of the guys who continually tells me not to read things into the stories until all the facts are available? Aren't you doing just that in presuming the son was justified.

    10. "Aren't you doing just that in presuming the son was justified."

What am I reading into it? We have statements from the victim's family who called the police. I'm going to assume there is forensic evidence that at least doesn't contradict the statements. At least the police haven't said so yet.
And we have the person/persons who attacked the victim who have now spent several days NOT turning themselves into police to tell their side of the story.

    11. Like typical gun loons, seemed they lied.

    12. I've now seen three or four versions of this story and have yet to see one in which anything was clear - other than the fact that gun ownership made this a tragedy.

    1. Good perception considering that he should be focusing on his front sight.

    2. So his priority is to spray the neighborhood with bullets, not get helpful information about the killer? More kill happy gun loon thinking.

    3. "So his priority is to spray the neighborhood with bullets, not get helpful information about the killer?"

His rightful and first priority is to defend his mother from harm. Once the threat is gone, then he can worry about first aid, descriptions, etc.
You seem to like using that word spray. Why do you suggest he wasn't aiming at the threat?

    4. His priority Peter is to protect his family from the evil in their presence not cower behind something watching his mother bleed out hoping the scumbags who shot his mother and attempted to kill his sister will just go away or that metro will just show up by some miracle.....I say good on him....and he did get helpful information

    5. You gun loons who claim safe shooting then defend some Hollywood type shooting scene.Your logic is stunning, so is your hypocrisy.

    6. "You gun loons who claim safe shooting then defend some Hollywood type shooting scene."

They weren't at the range Peter, so it was already unsafe. Someone was shooting at them. Once arrests are made and the car is examined, we can get a better idea as to whether your use of "spray" is justified.

    7. So these responsible gun owners were hunter/killers! Keep defending them SS.

  5. Lets reread SS comments and then review what we DO know about what happened. Total BS, SS. Congratulations.
