Elaine and Samoad Key
Local news
A Lancaster woman is headed to trial for an accidental shooting that critically injured her 9-year-old brother.
Elaine Key, 25, waived a preliminary hearing Thursday and allowed charges of aggravated assault, causing or risking a catastrophe, reckless endangerment, and conspiracy to proceed to county court.
Her husband, 30-year-old Samoad Key, also waived his hearing on counts of hindering apprehension and tampering with evidence. He is accused of hiding his wife’s gun on the roof of their home.

Mrs. Key fired a shot that went through the door and window and struck her brother in the back as he played on the sidewalk at his home.
Rentas also is charged with aggravated assault, causing or risking a catastrophe, reckless endangerment, and conspiracy. His preliminary hearing was rescheduled.
Should not have purchased the gun. Should never have fired it.

Don't most municipalities strictly prohibit the firing of weapons within city limits?
Throw the book at them. We are all better off with them behind bars. They are certainly not contributing anything of value to the community.
