Does the gun-friendly nature of sunny Florida have nothing at all to do with this?
Mental illness and criminality are already being dealt with. It's the easy access to guns in places like Florida that's not being adequately addressed.

If you can find a "gun un-friendly" state in which there are no such shootings, you might be able to make that case.
Should I wait?
But there are fewer. Are you going to deny that? Are you going to cherry-pick stats to argue that there aren't more in places like Florida?
ReplyDeleteI dunno. Maybe there are fewer; I don't really pay much attention to stats, because fundamental human rights aren't dependent on numbers.
ReplyDeleteI do note with amusement that sometimes (as here), your side argues that states with more draconian gun laws (up to and including bans of many types of guns) reduce "gun violence," but other times, the argument is that gun laws won't work until they're implemented nationally.
Funny stuff.
Well, that may seem funny to you, I suppose inferring that it makes no sense on our part, but the fact is I think it's just like that.
ReplyDeleteCertain gun restrictions work that would work a lot better if implemented nationally.
