Ted Nugent According to the Armed Intelligentsia

I don't know who's worse over there, Robert who said "I agree with everything that Ted Nugent says on the subject of guns," but then goes on to question his imagery and persona, or the Armed Intelligentsia who mostly just said they like Ted Nugent.

Here are two of those ideas Robert agrees with:

The war is coming to the streets of America and if you are not keeping and bearing and practicing with your arms then you will be helpless and you will be the victim of evil.
Ted Nugent

There are hundreds of millions of gun owners in this country, and not one of them will have an accident today. The only misuse of guns comes in environments where there are drugs, alcohol, bad parents, and undisciplined children. Period.
Ted Nugent
What's your opinion? The commenters over at TTAG were anything but undivided in their opinions of Ted. Caleb actually pointed out the famous plagiarism incident. Several said Ted scares people off and does more harm than good. Since no one else did, I mentioned Ted Nugent's failure to live up to his jingoistic rhetoric as a young man during Viet Nam.

What's your opinion? Please leave a comment.

  1. Ted Nugent as a spokes person? Ted Nugent as a person capible of intelligently giving an opinion about anything? What does this say about those who are all too ready to adopt his ranting as some form of reason?
With out saying too much about the Nuge...The Amboy Dukes were a band that played at High Schools in Detroit in the 60's. Nuge played in a band called The Lourds. Needless to say they were hip frat boy types who went with the times as frat boys began to start doing acid.
The Nuge was always a crazy guy, but there was vary drastic and radical personality change after a particularly bad trip in 1967. Something very bad happened to him and he was never the same. I was not present when this happened, but his violent freak out was legendary in Detroit...
Nugent claimed to have never done LSD again, but he never really made sense again as well.....
FYI, I was a very good friend of a person who was there when this happened.

  2. Did you include his bad hygene as reported in the July 15, 1990 Detroit Freep interview?

Of course, using the unorganised militia bullshit, he's a Viet Nam vet since he had a draftcard- he was part of the "unorganised US Army".

The special shit your pants before you ever get on the same continent as the enemy, let alone even see them!

It is sooooooooooooooooo unfair of you and other liebrals to bring up Mr. Teabag Teddy's inability to serve his country due to his demonstrated incontinence. Poor boy, if anything he loves his country more than countless others who don't make a dime off of their jingoism--fuggin' lozerzz!!

I gotta say when someone is trying to impress me with their swave suburbanity on the subject of things dear to gunzloonz and their various sub-genres of racists, xenophobes and KKKristian domininionist RWADs it does not improve their cred to cite the teachings of the batshit KKKrazzee fucks like Ted.

    1. If you need to use Ad Homenim attacks against gun owners, while wholeheartedly supporting an ideology that literally starved people to death, put them in gulags, and outright murdered them...
you've lost the argument. But thanks for playing. No parting gifts for you.

  7. Micro, Thanks for that Detroit history. You should write a book, man. I'll bet you've heard that a few times before.

  8. Where the hell did Ted get the idea that Obama wants to disarm him? If he doesn't feel safe, can't he just stay the fuck out of gun-free zones? What a dumbass!

For that matter, Red, how the hell does Barack Obama lie about guns when he never even talks about guns. He doesn't give a shit any more than I do. Keep your guns. Who cares?

    1. Yeah, never talks about guns..except for that whole talking about guns, executive actions, promising to do things "under the radar." Telling a Univision Mexico audience he wished to disarm America so Mexico's streets would be safe... Other than that, totally true.

  9. I was wondering what that son-of-a-bitch was going to do about carrying a gun when he appears in San Diego next month. I figured he'd be at one of the Kumeyaay reservations armed to the fucking teeth. Turns out he's appearing at the House of Blues on B Street. I could go see him. That's one of my trolley stops. I know he couldn't possibly have a concealed carry license for California. It's probably legal for him to have his precious gun at his hotel. But what will the poor little man do while he is on stage? If it sells out. I'll eat a lizard.

  10. Yeah, Flying Junior, just ask Brad Kozak how dangerous it is being a musician, having to load up your equipment in dark alleys late at night after the gig.

    Whatever will Ted do?

  11. That's a fairly motley crüe over there at TTAG. I don't think I'm going to bookmark their site just yet. I'll let you link me to their good stuff.

In preparation for my important comment, I watched Ted being interviewed by some Limey in Angleterre defending his joke about telling Obama to suck his machine gun. The whole canard about disarming etc. What a dumb asshole. He was likening himself to Richard Pryor or Sam Kinison as sort of an edgy entertainer. "Suck my machine gun" is a not so thinly veiled description of murder/assassination. Fuck that loser. I had no idea he still had a band. I figured he was as washed up as plastic on the beach.
