The time for dialogue?

"I'm sure this will be another teachable moment through which we will reassess our nation's insane attraction to its firearms and agree that there is some sensible middle ground between grabbing da gunz and having the freedom to get ventilated over the arugula. That will last 11 seconds, and then someone will auction off another rifle to honor Doctor King and we will all have liberty again." - Charlie Pierce

  1. I would contend we are already at a middle ground. And the US Supreme Court has determined that reasonable restrictions can be put in place. Every time someone mentions finding a middle ground, it seems to involve someone compromising in the direction of further restrictions.
And no one ever seems to suggest any solutions to problems unless it involves further restrictions. As evidenced by our discussion of the proposed background check law authored by Senator Coburn of Oklahoma.

  2. The gun control freaks love to talk about a middle ground, but what has your side been willing to give up? You demand more and more and never offer anything in return.

    1. The problem is your middle ground accepts 33,000 gun shot deaths a year. That's only acceptable to kill happy criminal cowards like you. Yes we demand that number be reduced. Silly us, wanting to stop killings.

    2. You're not silly for wanting to stop killings. You're silly for believing that gun control will achieve that.

    3. It's worked before, so I'm not silly to know it can work again.
Facts prove gun control has and can work, so you lie again. No surprise from the site lying criminal coward.

    4. The question is anon, why does the site lying coward try to stop any method of stopping the killings?
