And Now For Something Completely Different

We've had unusually warm and relatively dry weather here on the high plains.

And it hasn't really been winter long enough for us to suffer from the perennial tedium known colloquially as cabin fever, but some people got a head start on fighting the winter boredom.  The end of the week is supposed to be back to the more traditional arctic cold of Minnesota winters.

From WCCO news:

Group Goes No-Pants To Fight Transportation Tedium

On Sunday, a surprise came to some Light Rail riders around 1 p.m. when a group of people took off their pants after getting on at the Mall of America station.
The pant-less demonstration was a part of the fourth annual No-Pants Light Rail Ride. The event’s organizers say it’s meant to bring a little strangeness into the routine and tedium of the day. They also say that the display is not meant to be indecent. Thongs and banana hammocks were forbidden.
After unbuttoning and unzipping, the event’s participants just acted (as best they could) as though what they were doing was normal. They talked on their cell phones, amongst each other and may have even engaged in a game of “Angry Birds.”
The idea for the spectacle got started by a New York improvisation group.

  1. I reckon US Public transport needs all the help it can get.

  2. This is an excellent reason for having one's own vehicle--no need to be boxed in with these jokers.
