The Mediæval Bæbes: Coventry Carol

A carol where a mother (teacher) sings to a small child to be quiet so as not to be killed seems particularly appropriate in a society where school lock down drills have become common.

Lully, lullay, Thou little tiny Child,
Bye, bye, lully, lullay.
Lullay, thou little tiny Child,
Bye, bye, lully, lullay.
O sisters too, how may we do,
For to preserve this day
This poor youngling for whom we do sing
Bye, bye, lully, lullay.
Herod, the king, in his raging,
Charged he hath this day
His men of might, in his owne sight,
All young children to slay.

    1. That's because you are too stupid to understand them.

    2. BTW, I am not alone in my observations that you seem out of touch with what is going on in most online fora:
      bloggingblue.com/2011/10/wheres-rod-serling-when-you-need-him/

The consensus seems to be that you cannot come up with comments which are cogent and considered: as is the case with this one.

And since you have to say something, even if it is stupid as hell, you posted this pathetic excuse for a comment.

I'm sure you will be back to try and get me to make further comments since you are a pathetic POS which needs some form of online validation, which is probably why you go around making ignorant comments.

You are hoping someone will respond.

Also, how was this a monologue? If anything, your pathetic attempt to elucidate a response (and usual ignorant comments) are more monologues than my posts.

Furthermore, if you find them "boring as hell"--why do you bother reading them, let alone commenting.

My guess is that you are truly a lonely person who is seeking some online validation of your "intellect"--which ain't gonna come from me.

    3. So much for not reading comments. Even more so much for not responding to the ones YOU think are stupid.
We put that lie out of its misery by shooting holes in it.

    4. "Orlon: Acrylic fibers are synthetic fibers made from a polymer (polyacrylonitrile) with an average molecular weight of ~100,000, about 1900 monomer units. To be called acrylic in the U.S, the polymer must contain at least 85% acrylonitrile monomer. Typical comonomers are vinyl acetate or methyl acrylate. DuPont created the first acrylic fibers in 1941 and trademarked them under the name Orlon."

Sadly, Laci, this is what Orlon fluff-for-brains has in place of the usual intellectual organic brain matter, which explains a lot about the poor quality of his comments.

What a shame that he is once again out of his depth in referring to a carol and lyrics, relating to an obvious biblical event, where no monologue, much less one by you, occurs.

That the massacre of the innocents might not be factual (is PROBABLY not factual) is outlined here:
      http://skepticalviewsofchristianity.com/herods_slaughter.html

There do not appear to be any contemporary documents of this event. The new testament sources citing it were compiled at least three to four hundred years later.

However, it is a GORGEOUS musical rendition of a medieval tune, specific to the holiday -- and doubly eerie in the context of the Sandy Hook modern massacre of innocents.

    5. Are we sure dog gone is real? After all, she only seems to show up to insult people and extol Laci's intelligence--usually after he's been shown to have bollixed something up like the relative positions of the sun at solstice and the southern cross or a simple statement of the elements of libel. Is she just a sock puppet?

The main difference being that when encountering a modern threat, with the right tools available, a person with the will to can provide protection for the children.

    1. Like the idiot gun loon parents who are killing their children because of the negligent manner in which they use and store their guns.
