Being a (White) Gunloon Means You Can Shoot People You Insult

Oklahoma City:
Rumors about one man talking about another man's wife lead to a fatal shooting in Midwest City late Saturday night, police said.

Mark Wilkinson, 32, was killed in the shooting at about 11 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators said Raymond Stauffer, 38, called 911 from his home in the 300 block of East Fairchild and told a dispatcher that he has just shot someone.

Apparently, Stauffer isn't under arrest or in custody.  The odds of this being the case if Stauffer were black is..well..about the same as Mike Walther having a date on Saturday.

  1. Leave it up to Jade to leave out things like important details:

"Stauffer said he grabbed a handgun after hearing several loud knocks at his front door at about 11 p.m., according to the news release.
Stauffer said he opened the door because he could not see outside, and Wilkinson forced his way in the home.
According to the release, Stauffer said Wilkinson tried to grab his gun, and that is when Stauffer fired his weapon, killing Wilkinson."

He's not in jail, not because Oklahoma is not Saudi Britania where you get put in jail for defending yourself.

  2. Sadly, AzRed fails to note the newsstory mentions the fact Stauffer called 911 but told the dispatcher he'd just wait until the next day to make a complaint.

This is plainly a case where the gunloon wanted a confrontation.

Again, had Stauffer been black---he'd be in jail.

  3. Guns really simplify life. Anybody with half a brain would never argue or fight with some asshole who owns guns. If you don't want to die, you just shut the fuck up and keep your opinion to yourself.

It is likely that this soon-to-be-defendant wished to kill his antagonist. But only a fool would armchair prosecute based on an incomplete news item.

    Irrelevant.

"This is plainly a case where the gunloon wanted a confrontation."

I'll remember that when someone forces their way into your home, you just wanted a confrontation.

  5. AztecRed, It seems to me this is a case of a loud mouth bully of a gun owner starting trouble that he knew he could finish. And he did. And then you come along and defend him, naturally, because he was the one with the gun.

About the race issue, I'm sure Jadegold is right about that too, especially because Oklahoma is OK (for whiteys).

  8. So, Anon, are you really claiming that you get to shoot people with a criminal record? It seems like it.

  9. You have the right to shoot people who illegally invade your home. You do not have to ask if they have a criminal record. You do not have to ask if they intend you harm (that is implied by their forceful entry into your house). Does that clear it up for you?

I think his point was the man was justified in defending himself from a violent criminal.

No but I am claiming that I do give a crap about a person w/ a criminal record that got himself shot dead for kicking in someones door to try to teach him a lesson..... dumb-ass should have stayed at home....

Exactly. It's basically Darwinism at work.

"About the race issue, I'm sure Jadegold is right about that too, especially because Oklahoma is OK (for whiteys)."

And i'm sure there is a teapot orbiting the planet Jupiter. Never mind the lack of any substantiating evidence.

  12. So this was a case of that tragic Whiter on white crime since Mr.DK

(OK-DoJ picture is a white guy)

And so you know.... I would not care if it was black on black/green/orange Mr.DK froced his way into the home and now he can't......

  13. One thing is the castle-doctrine mentality that says you can legally shoot someone in certain circumstances. Another is the moral question of right and wrong.

Do you guys want the opportunity to kill someone so badly that you jump at the first opportunity if you can get away with it? That's sick. The only moral justification for killing someone in self defense is if it really had been self defense. Kicking in a door or climbing in a window isn't enough.

Along those lines, another thing is this. Let's say there's a guy who owns guns and just can't wait to blow someone away and get away with it. He taunts another guy calling his wife a whore or by threatening to rape her, knowing full well the other guy is going to come storming over to settle things like a man. The pusillanimous gun owner lays in wait and blows the guy away.

In a case like that does it matter if the dead guy had been a criminal?

So was it morally right for MrDK to come over and try to beat the crap out of someone over mean words?

To bad for you that kicking in a door and climbing in a window is reason enough if the gun owner fears violence....... to bad for you.....

Oh but there's the rub that is not what happened.... so make up the stories you want but Mr.Thuggie DK is still dead.....

In a case like that does it matter if the dead guy had been a criminal?"

No it does not matter if Mr. Settles things like a man-DK was a criminal or not, he had better learn to stay the fuck home and learn some anger management skills instead of thug 101.....

MrDK learned a lesson not to be messin'....

  15. mike - in order for it to be self defense do you have to wait for the criminal intruder to get himself oriented, draw his or her weapon and make the first attack?

Isn't their forceful entry into your house already an attack against you? Now personally I can see yelling "Freeze or I will shoot" to someone crawling in a window. But if he keeps coming in, how long should you wait to defend yourself?

  16. "Kicking in a door or climbing in a window isn't enough."

But kicking in a door and grabbing the homeowner's gun is.

  17. I admit it can be a tough call in some cases. But I object to all the macho talk of killing people in a cavalier manner.

  18. Actually, yes that is what happened. Ray kept calling Mark's wife's phone calling her a c*** b***-- saying next time he sees her he's going to rape and torture her...basically doing everything he could to get Mark to come over.and when he did, HE DID NOT KICK THE DOOR IN OR FORCE his way into the home.he knocked,Ray gladly answered (after getting his gun of course..BC he knew it was Mark)-mark asked him to talk like men OUTSIDE ray said no its all good just come in and we can talk about it.as soon as he steps in he pulls the gun out.mark said u better use it or put it up.so he did.then when his wife runs in, horrified to see her husband lying dead..ray says to her leave b**** or your next.now I don't see how any of that Is self defense!

  19. common sense, Thanks so much for the personal account. How do you fit into the story, though?

  21. Mikeb did u not get my 2comments I put before that? Hmm..
Anyways looks like another OJ case.just so sad!!!!! Plain as day ray planned it and murdered mark. For one thing he is a nurse.of course he knows if u shoot in the chest itll most likely kill DUH!! U dont need half a brain to know that. And he said he thought ut was police at his door.well for an educated man that seems to b the dumbest thing u can do,get ur gun first so as soon as u open the door youll def be shot if its the cops!

So stupid makes no sense at all.what a creep.

  22. commonsense, My question was "How do you fit into the story, though?" I mean are you related to the people in this story in some way? You seem to have an insiders understanding of what went on there.

  23. I'm a very close friend of the whole family and mark was IS my best friend.I just can't believe he can get away with this I've got to get out of OK!
