Summer Moody Shot for Practically No Reason

al.com reports

Two men staying at a camp on the back side of the island heard a door being broken. One of the men, according to Mack, was a caretaker of the property, knew of several recent break-ins and went to investigate.

The men discovered intruders and fired once each, Mack said.

Apparently, he said, Moody was hit by one of those shots. He said that a bullet from a small-caliber rifle struck her "toward the back of the head."

Mack said investigators believe that Moody was outside some feet away from one of the camp houses, although her exact location and exactly what she was doing had not been determined.

What's your opinion? They're comparing this to the Trayvon Martin case, but I don't really see the similarity. In this case there was no hint of aggression on the part of the teenager, in fact, I can see no reason at all for shots to have been fired.

What do you think? Please leave a comment.

  1. The news article clarified the jumble that you quoted. She was hanging out with three teenaged boys, and those boys broke into the houses. The lesson here is simple: Don't hang out with criminals.

  2. These three look like some really upstanding chiorboys.....

The three teens had initially been charged as juveniles with a lesser offense. A person accused of carrying a weapon during a burglary can be charged with first-degree burglary, a crime with a maximum penalty of life in prison.

Looks like she picked the wrong crowd to hang with......

  3. And I certainly hope they go for federal charges on the rifle that was in their boat.

Sez forensics expert and seer, Greg Camp.

Well, geez, Greggie, what if she was not "hanging out" with them and was in fact coerced or even being held against her will?

As usual you immediately assume any facts not in evidence that support your moronic and aemoral assertions that teh gunz solve problemz.

    Tommy:

You and Greggie really need to read everything that's there.
Oh, dear; it looks like it's not quite as clear cut as forensics expert and seer Greg Camp, or resident drooler, tommy, thinked it were.

    This:

"All three campers have criminal backgrounds. William Hearn served three years for trafficking cocaine and having a gun while committing a felony. Larry Duncan plead guilty to selling cocaine in 1991. And Lonnie Davison was charged with property theft in 1992. Federal agents are investigating whether the convicted felons should have been carrying guns."

Looks like them there castledefendin'standyourgrounders wuz hangin' out wit teh crimnulz too, namely each other.

That's okay, now that they're seen to be felonz with no right to own firearms Greggie and his gunzloonzpalz can say, "See, see, teh crimnulz haz teh gunz no matter what you do. If that young gal had her own gun with her, she'da bagged them perps (all six of 'em!) and been home in time for breakfast.".

Man, it's gotta be tough when your vigilante heroes turn into garden variety lawbreakin' scum bags in

    Oh, wait, this:

“They could not feel worse about it,” Dasinger said. “They’re taking it really hard.”

“They are not vigilantes,” Dasinger said. “They were simply trying to help out their neighbors.”

    from here (http://www.local15tv.com/news/local/story/Fishermen-Claim-Warning-Shot-Hit-Summer-Moody/IXDtPB_-hESRONDfCNzRZA.cspx)

makes it all okay, they aren't vigilantes and they didn't think that they shot any of he people they couldn't see.

Well, if history is a guide, there will be justice--at any expense--'cuz the cardinal rule of shootin' was broken, the victim was pretty blond teenaged girl. I hope them "fishermen" got some good lawyers.

So the three young goblins are kidnappers now too, great, burglary, carrying a weapon during a burglary, underage possession of a firearm, and eventually murder.... for the three boys since they were involved in the commission of another felony when she was shot....

  6. tommy has gotten his tiny brain wrapped around the idea that my heart bleeds for the three young fellas that didn't get shot. Wrong, tommy, it's not that I worry about what happens to them under the law; they made their bed they can lie in it.

Otoh, the three idiots who chased them and fired a warning shot that inexplicably hit a young woman in the back of the head (musta been oneathem tricks of physics) are all felons and it appears the ATF might file federal gunz charges if the state doesn't want to.

  7. Dumb-ole-commie has gotten into that wrinkled scrotum looking head of his that I give a fuck about any of these mopes.

The felony burglars and their illegally possessed rifle. nope don't give a fuck.

The fisherman-felons in possesion of a firearm. nope don't give a fuck.

Miss picked the wrong friends happened while looking the wrong way accessory to felony burglary, nope still don't give a fuck.

If Ms. Little Should have not been hanging out with the wrong crowd had been at home rather than out and about, SHE WOULD NOT HAVE GOT HER STUPID ASS SHOT!!!!!

    1. Thomas, I thought you guys didn't like to blame the victim. Is that only when it's convenient, then?

    2. Mikeb, it's a recognition that when someone goes along with bad actions, bad consequences can result. Life is filled with hard lessons. Some people learn by watching or being told, while others have to learn by being burned.

When did I ever say that, how about a little personal responsibility, If my kids start hanging out with armed white thugs, I sure a shit am going to put some blame where it belongs, on my kids for being stupid.

Personal responsibility learn some, because as little miss wrong crowd found out lacking it can get you shot.....

    1. And when an 8-year-old, who's been through the Eddie Eagle program and had multiple warnings about safe gun handling, takes dad's gun and kills somebody, who's fault is that. ONLY the kid's?
