Accidental Shooting of New Orleans Baby - No Charges

 Local News reports

A 3-year-old girl was accidentally shot by a relative on Friday afternoon in St. Roch, New Orleans police said.

The accidental shooting happened about 2:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Franklin Avenue.

Police said the toddler was shot in the foot by her great aunt, 52-year-old Elaine Lee, when she was playing with the gun at her home.
What do you think?

  1. "One-strike and you're out" should be the rule. But she'll probably not even get a slap on the wrist for allowing her gun to get into the child's hands.

    1. It was the auntie who fired the gun. But, you're right there probably won't be any charges, it was an accident after all.

    2. "Lee was arrested on charges of negligent injury and child endangerment" From the article. Mike I have come to believe that every time you say "no charges" you simply do not give police enough time to investigate and determine if charges are necessary. This is at least the 2nd report where you have done this. You also refuse to go back and amend these posts or update when charges are brought. Why the deceit in your blogging?

    3. Jim, I've updated several reports. Maybe you're not paying attention and accusing me too quickly.
