What's your opinion? Do you agree with Mike that racism has increased since 2008?
I can’t think of one President who’s taken as much shit as he has, with the possible exception of Abraham Lincoln. You know how when you were a kid, when your parents would ask what you wanted to be when you grew up, and at some point you’d blurt out, “I wanna be the president” and they’d look at you with pride at the thought? Nowadays, I can’t think of one single parent who’d be smiling if their kid said that.
I think that's exactly right. I've been saying for a while now that inexplicable Obama hatred equals racism.Racism in this country has gotten completely out of control since Obama was elected in 2008. It’s almost like the civil rights movement NEVER happened. I have to wonder- did all the white people suddenly succumb to mass insanity? Because it sure seems that way to me.But here’s the kicker- with all of the asshole pundits talking smack, NONE of them have the balls to come out and say what they’re really thinking when it comes to Obama. If you watch Fox news or listen to Rush Limbaugh, there’s always a subtext to their words- they’ve called him every name in the book except one. And it’s a word they would NEVER say in public, but I’m sure they’ve called him away from the spotlight:Nigger. They think he’s an uppity nigger.

There have always and sadly will probably always be racists. However, I don't think there has been an increase in racism as much as a change in the definition.
ReplyDeleteRacism today can include:
"I don't like Obama" = racist.
"Obama is a socialist" = racist.
"I think I will judge the candidates by their positions and values" = racist.
"I may not vote for Obama, but I am still undecided" = racist.
"I only vote Republican" = racist.
I think it's possible that it has not increased, but the old prez brings it out in them.
DeleteI don't care for Obama because of the content of his character, not the color of his skin.
ReplyDeleteI don't respect Obama because of his weakness. I disagree with some of his policy choices, some of his aspirations, and some of his goals. Regarding his skin color? I couldn't care less.
ReplyDeleteWhat is inexplicable is that in 2012 we still have race-baiters.

Fat White Man's comment was totally self serving. Trying reading...

.... to say that racism has NOT increased... is NOT more open than ever before...is terribly naive.
And please, do not argue with me.... just goggle 'Obama Nigger' and wallow in the filth
To maintain this position, you have to show an increase in racism that is solely attributable to having a black president. Remember that the Internet has come into its own during the first decade of this century. Sites pop up all over about any number of topics, but that's in part because of the ease of putting up a site. The Internet allows people to be louder than ever before. Is there an increase in racism? Who knows. It's just easier to express such ideas.
DeleteAs a dog lover and a pet owner I couldn't vote for Obama because he eats dog.
ReplyDeleteBesides, isn't it racist to call your grandmother, "a typical white person" What exactly does that mean, Obama?

What does "eats dog" mean?
DeleteThe same thing eats fish means, it means eating fish, only Obama eats dog.
Delete"The Daily Caller noted that in President Obama’s best-selling memoir, “Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance,” the president recalls being fed dog meat as a young boy in Indonesia with his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro."
Here is the direct quote from his book:
“With Lolo, I learned how to eat small green chill peppers raw with dinner (plenty of rice), and, away from the dinner table, I was introduced to dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchy). Like many Indonesians, Lolo followed a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths. He explained that a man took on the powers of whatever he ate: One day soon, he promised, he would bring home a piece of tiger meat for us to share.”
Mikeb, are you a 'typical white person'?

If there seems to be a perceived increase in racism or racial tensions, look no further than this administration's Attorney General, Eric Holder. His Dept. of Justice(sic) has implicitly ignored racism perpetrated against Whites by Blacks and goes out of it's way to implicate racism in events where no proof of racial intent exists. The Trayvon Martin shooting is but one example.
ReplyDeleteBut since the Martin shooting, there have been multiple incidents of Black on White violence that are either under reported or simply ignored by the lame stream media. And in most of these incidents, the attackers have told their victims..."this is for Trayvon Martin."
Where is the outrage from race baiters like Sharpton, Jackson, Shabazz, etal. over these other "racist events? Oops, my bad...they don't fit the narrative.
Obama and the Democrats wants to use any tactic to keep people from examining his failed economic policies and trying to use class or race "warfare" is his only hole card. In fact, Democratic strategy is to use the race card whenever possible when talking about public policy. They've even held seminars on it.
I'm just sayin'
Yes, and as usual what you say is just repeating the conservative company policy. I think you guys have seminars on that.
DeleteI can't speak for everyone else, but the seminars that I attended had critical thinking as their theme. I must have missed the one in which the Emperor showed his new race card.
DeleteHere's a link to the story from the Washington Examiner;
Deletehttp://campaign2012.washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/house-dems-trained-make-race-issue/537146
Democratic representatives and their staffers are being trained on how to turn any debate on policy issues into a debate on race instead.
That's not about turning debates into racial issues, that's about dealing with the overwhelming racism that's coming down the pike. Guys like you, Mr. G.
DeleteI don't know about others. I oppose our President's values and policies, not his family tree or how much melanin his skin maintains.
ReplyDeleteRacism needs to be kept alive in this country. If there was no racism, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would have to get real jobs.
ReplyDeleteOn a serious note, hatred and disdain for a President may have been around for a while. We just have the internet now to pass along our hatred.
