Sign the petition to ban realistic toy guns, or as I once poetically put it, ban them sumbitches.

    1. That's a petition to the Chicago city council. I didn't realize that you lived in Chicago, Oregonian.

  3. Petitions like that ought to have the option of declaring one's opposition. I won't sign it, and if anyone asks me to do so, my answer will be "Hell no!" Don't you get it, Mikeb? Americans in most places aren't stupid enough to support this.

  6. This subject is really laughable. There have been toy guns for what, at least 150 years? And those toys are just now causing problems? Yeah, OK!

    1. There have not been realistic-looking toy guns for 150 years. This is a recent phenomenon and it gets people killed.

Those not good enough for you? I realize that you're not a student of nineteenth and early twentieth century firearms, but if you look at the variety of genuine pocket guns sold in those periods, you'll see that the toys look close to the real thing.

    3. Besides which, children in that period were often using the real thing.

    4. Mike, I guess the 147 and 152 year old toy muskets I have dont qualify as antiques then.

You reall need to brush up on your research skills before being a key board racer.

    5. You guys are just being contentions and disagreeable. Realistic-looking toy guns are a recent problem. That doesn't mean there was never such a thing before, there was, but the problem is a recent one. You know this but you insist on arguing with me on every single little thing.

You should turn that switch off in your brains and take the arguments one at a time each on its own merits. You'd then be able to agree once in a while which would lend credibility to your disagreeing.

    6. We're being contentious and disagreeable because we show you that factually, you're wrong? We offered you examples of realistic toy guns from decades ago. I also made the point that children in days gone by many times had real guns of their own.

The trouble here is that your standard of logic is to see how something feels. That's how you decide a question. Your objection to us is not that we're wrong; it's that we aren't willing to sing Kumbaya with you.

When you stop advocating for taking away our rights, you'll find that I'm much less contentious.

    7. Yes Greg, contentious and disagreeable. In the 50s, the toy guns we had were not realistic looking. Nowadays it's a totally different story, both with the appearance and with the mass production.

    8. It's pointless to argue the facts with you. You have no respect for facts. I do restate my point above: When you stop trying to take away our rights, I'll have much less desire to fight you.

  7. In the 50s, toy guns looked exactly like the real thing back then. Before then some toy guns were actually real guns that didn't get finished because of some kind of flaw, were rendered inoperable and sold as toys. Those cant get much more like the real thing.

Toy guns and other objects have been mistaken for guns as long as I can remember and people were killed because of them in the 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s, 50s, 40s, 30s, 20s,,,,,,,,,, well I can go on.

It may be a new phenomenon for you Mike, but not for history. It looked like a GUN! It looked like a KNIFE! It looked like a, well whatever and whatever has always gotten people killed. Especially when people tried to threaten others with whatever.

I dint know how long you have lived in this world Mike, but apparently not long enough. I have been here for a long time and have seen quite a bit. You can argue all the fantasy you want, but you cant make up your own facts.
