Alabama Man Suffers Self-Inflicted Gun Shot Wound from Dropped Gun Incident

Local news reports

Police say a man who was accidentally shot by his own gun at a Winn Dixie in Tuscaloosa will undergo surgery to remove the bullet.

Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit Sgt. Dale Phillips says the man's .25-caliber gun fell from his hip and fired a shot into his leg while he was grocery shopping on Saturday night.

Authorities say the gun was being carried in a holster at the time. Phillips says the bullet traveled up the victim's leg and lodged itself in his hip.

  1. A very poor holster by the sounds of it.

  2. And a poor choice of caliber. The .25 has a long history of failing to penetrate more than a layer of skin.

    1. Both these lying fuck head hillbillies see no problem here. Of course not, they do the same thing and find it just an accident. They have to, or accept that they are the type of lying fuck head hillbillies that should have their guns taken away, not to mention their position that law breaking and killing children is acceptable.

  3. Never can tell when an alien is going to masquerade as a squash and attack. Gunsucks are fucking cowardly scum. You are in no danger in a grocery store.

    1. You missed the story about the good citizen who used his carry gun to stop a man going on a stabbing spree in a Utah grocery store, I take it.

    2. You also missed the video of the estranged husband who began stabbing his wife in a Wal-Mart in an attempt to kill her ... he would have succeeded had an armed patron not shot the attacker. You can see the security footage on YouTube here:

Oh, and then we have the guy who kidnapped a child in a Wal-Mart and then held a knife to the child's throat for several minutes before negotiations with police failed and the police shot and killed him:

But go ahead and keep telling yourself that there is no danger in a grocery store.

    3. Random acts of violence can and do happen. But the chances of one happening to you AND for you to be able to use your gun to save the day are much more unlikely than that one day your gun will be misused in some way, and some of those can be devastating.

    4. Mikeb, I know that you're making that assessment of risk up, so I choose to ignore it. But even if you're right, it's still my choice to accept that risk.

    5. I went to the store today and was not attacked. I went the store yesterday and was not attacked. 100,000 people in my city did too. 1,000,000 people in Chicago did too. But apparently gunsucks wet their pants with fear when they think about the dangerous squash and lettuce. Suckass cowards own guns. Real men deal with the very remote remote remote chance of problems and realise that is is not a problem, but a psychotic delusion.

    6. I went to the store yesterday and didn't shoot anyone. Millions of permit holders carried yesterday and didn't shoot anyone. Though I'll admit I'm not a fan of squash, I hold no ill will towards it.

    7. And some dumb gun loon brought her gun to a coffee, dropped it and shot an innocent person. It happens all the time. That's why Mike has enough material to post multiple times a day.

    8. Anon,
If we're going to talk about Starbucks again, you should go back and read what we've already discussed. The woman you mentioned wasn't carrying legally. Unless you're talking about someone else.

    9. ss, did you miss the "multiple times a day" reference?

If I had more time I could post, let's not say a hundred because last time I said that it created a shit storm of feigned outrage, but I could post stories all day long about you lawful gun owners doing bad things with guns.

I realize that if you divide that number by 300 million you get a small percentage, but the point remains. Guns do more harm than good and your chances of needing a gun to save yourself are smaller than the possibility that one day you'll make the pages of my blog.

    10. Legal, or not some gun loon shot someone because they are an idiot. You clowns argue legal, or not; I'll stick with pointing out gun loons cause useless death and injury, and that should be stopped.
