“According to the dictionary, ‘nigger’ does not mean black. It means a low down, lazy, sorry, low down person. That’s what the N word means.” —Paula Smith of Hinesville, Georgia, explaining why she’s cool selling “Don’t Re-Nig 2012” bumper stickers.
This is why I include a discussion of etymology in my classes. The origins of words matter.
ReplyDeleteoh just too cool! That means I can go back to doing my "Your White Trash Moment" Posts again...because, when I say White Trash, it's term of endearment....I have a soft spot in my heart for 280+pound slobs wearing XXX Large Cheeto stained T shirts with indecipherable greyed out graphics on them with a few broken washing machines and a rusting 1985 Chevy Nova on cinder blocks out on the lot in front of the trailer...really, I do! These folks are are my relatives. Really, the more dead and dying shrubbery, the better...atmosphere! atmosphere! Y'all want gravy on that?.
ReplyDeleteYou never had to stop. Don't you understand? It's only racist when it's an attack on a favored group. Going after white guys doesn't count.
DeleteThe meaning of the word naygur changes in meaning, if it's used by a Negrophile as opposed to a Negrophobe.
ReplyDeleteMicrodot, you say "white trash" like it's a bad thing.

ReplyDeleteAnd that has anything to do with Paua Smith's stupidity and racism?

ReplyDeleteLet me ask you, what does your comment have to do with Smith's comment?

ReplyDeleteWhen cowardly commenters hide behind "anonymous" and make truly fucking stupid comments, comments, which have nothing to do with mikeb302000's post--except that they afford a cowardly asshole a further opportunity to display his own racism--the reply I typed is more than enough.
You've made your own racism VERY obvious. That you hate the U.S. military is also something you've made no secret about. Thanks, we know what your feelings are on these matters, it makes it easier to dismiss your indignorant comments.
BTW, orlin, honey, you may have noticed that the person who made that comment hasn't been back to defend it. Or, was that you and you just forgot to sign it?
As to commenting about Paula Smith, my comments were fairly comprehensive in that area on the post that mikeb302000 recently put on the blog.
The fact that you know his name means that Orlin Sellers isn't anonymous.
