Defensive Gun Use - German Jewish Style

 Reuters reports
"The man threatened us and made clear he would have lashed out if the children had not been there," the council quoted Kramer, 44, as saying on its website.

Kramer then pointed to a gun he is allowed to carry for his personal protection to deter the man from attacking him.
I'm sure our friends on The Truth About Guns will be all in favor of this behavior, and not because their fearless leader himself is Jewish, but because they give the widest possible interpretation of what constitutes a valid DGU.

What do you think?  Is this a legitimate DGU or not?

  1. The presense of a firearm in the possesion of a person legally able to possess it deterred the individual from escalating the assault from verbal to physical.

Regardless of the statement "The man threatened us and made clear he would have lashed out if the children had not been there," any parent that takes someone like that at their word, especially with their children present, is a fool.

So yes, that most certainly is a legitimate DGU.

    1. 'fraid not. There was not sufficient threat to warrant the use of a gun.

    2. Mikeb, why do you always insist that the good citizen has to be mortally wounded before the use of a gun is justified? Why do you support thugs?

    3. When did I say he has to be mortally wounded first? Greg, I'm getting tired of your putting words in my mouth I did not say.
What I do say is there has to be lethal threat.

    4. Indeed, but every time you post a story about someone who shoots a violent attacker, you always question the actions of the good citizen, wondering why said person didn't try to run away. I can draw conclusions based on the statements that you do make.

  2. No need to guess. The Truth about Guns already covered this. And yes, we supported the good citizen, and I do so here. Note that no one got killed. This incident wouldn't have counted in those studies that your side loves to quote, but a good citizen kept a thug from harming him.

...and nearly every other story on here as well. And they do it better and more professionally. I'm sure their page stats reflect that as well.
