For Los Angeles Cops It's Like Shootin' Fish in a Barrel

The Los Angeles Times reports on two police shootings in a single day, both dead..

A woman was killed in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night in Watts -- the area's second fatal shooting of the day involving police, authorities said.

The slaying occurred about 7:20 p.m. after patrol officers responded to a "shots fired" call in the 10000 block of Anzac Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The name of the woman was not released. Investigators were going to the scene.

[Updated 9:08 p.m: Officers responded to reports that the woman was shooting at her daughter and her grandchildren, according to LAPD Officer Karen Rayner.]

Meanwhile, police identified a man killed Wednesday morning by officers as Jose Solario Abraham, 46. He allegedly confronted officers in the 1700 block of East 115th Street with a shotgun and knife and refused commands to drop the weapons. Officers opened fire after he pointed the shotgun at them, according to the LAPD.
It's rough out there, huh? Lots o' guns.
