George Zimmerman's Amazing Disappearing Gun

  1. So from what I heard the gun might be in his vehicle. But we wont know for sure because they aren't going to get a search warrant.
In this whole thing we have conflicting stories which include the police department and an attorney. The only relatively impartial witnesses are the police.
The police said they found no gun. After the police arrived and made sure everyone was safe, the wife's and father in law's story changed.
Wife told 911 she saw a gun and after police arrived, suddenly she says she saw no gun.
She also said husband punched father and please send an ambulance. Police arrive, and no one had been punched.
So why would these stories suddenly change AND both wife and father in law decline to press charges?
Sounding like someone might be telling some whoppers.

    1. On the news last night the report now is that this is the result of a prank call and are now investigating this as such.

Couldn't get Zimmerman in court so now the opposition is pranking him with bogus calls to the police? Would someone actually bow so low?

We will see how this plays out.

    2. Could that have been FOX News, by any chance? Local affiliate?

Said prank call is completely non-googolable. This account from the Orlando Sentinel seems to have a fairly good version of the events. I see or hear nothing to suggest that the call was a prank. I would guess that 911 dispatch can see the number calling them unless it is blocked. Also, Shelley tells the dispatcher that the police have arrived at the precise moment. It would have to be a fairly elaborate hoax with a damn good actress to even possibly believe that the police were pranked. Listen to the audio and decide for yourself. Also, even his attorney admits to an altercation and even goes as far as to say that dickhead was wearing a TV private eye style holster the entire time.

    3. Why don't you Americans just throw this Zimmerman guy in jail or in front of a firing squad or in an internment camp? Are you not embarrassed by this? This hasn't gone unnoticed internationally.

    4. Does that mean you'll stay away, Mr. Chinese Luxury Car?

  2. His attorney said he had his gun on him, in his holster, on the side of his chest, hidden behind his coat. The cops found no gun. This is the same attorney we have to believe about the truth of Zimmerman's account of the killing, since Zimmerman would not take the stand. No one will press charges (common in domestic cases) so Zimmerman goes free. This will not be the last we here of Zimmerman, he is a man in trouble inside his head with obvious temper problems. He's learning it's not so easy to live with killing a person, guilty, or not.

    1. Ok Jim, then who do we believe? We haven't heard from George. Wife and dad decided to change their story AND signed off that they declined to press charges. The police said they found no gun on him.
If the police had found any evidence showing physical harm, they would have arrested him as is the SOP in many departments. The attorney said he had his gun on him. How would it benefit his client to say that? Wouldn't agreeing with everyone else that there was no gun be better?
The wife and father in law have now made themselves out to be untrustworthy. Though it might very well be a matter of people hearing different stories. I'll go with what the police say for now.

    2. The thing I find hardest to believe is that there was no gun. How could that be? Didn't the gun manufacturer give him one to replace the one taken by the police? Doesn't he have a concealed carry permit? Isn't his life in constant danger now after the acquittal?

So, if one person says there was no gun and another says there was, it doesn't take much common sense to choose.

Then why did the soon to be ex change her story?

    4. And what is the incentive for the police to lie about whether he had a gun or not, especially since the soon to be ex could change her story, provide some proof like a cell phone pic, and embarrass the department?

  3. "The attorney said he had his gun on him. How would it benefit his client to say that?"
Since the attorney wasn't there, i figure Zimmerman told him, or the attorney is lying, something attorneys try not to do with the media. No benefit, just describing a carry situation that is perfectly legal for Zimmerman. I don't believe any of them, including Zimmerman. And we don't know yet what the police will decide.
Zimmerman is a guy in trouble, in his head, he needs help.

    1. That's interesting - he broke the i-phone.

    2. She claims that. Mikeb, we've seen that you don't know the difference between a claim and evidence.

  5. This is going to get interesting. They are now trying to pull video off of the wife's iPad because she says she was recording the exchange of property. Shellie is claiming George smashed it and George is claiming that she broke it by hitting him with it.

"Police have sent the iPad to a crime lab to see if the video footage can be recovered. The video's contents will determine if either of the couple will be charged with domestic battery.
Under Florida law, police can make an arrest in a domestic violence case even if a victim decides not to press charges.
The iPad is critical evidence in part because George claims Shellie hit him with it."

    1. That will be interesting. Hopefully they get the video so that we can see if he needs to be punished for striking at her, or if she needs to be punished for trying to set him up.

I've heard a disturbing number of reports from colleagues about people framing their spouse for domestic violence at these property exchanges just for spite, which is why a lot of them recommend having a deputy on site to be an impartial observer.
