Families Reveal The Gun Tragedies That Cost Them Dearly

  1. If you have children around, it's a good idea to lock them up and to teach your own children how to use them safely. But given the number of unintended shootings as compared to the number of gun owners, this isn't a case of needing more laws.

    1. That's self-serving bullshit, Greg. Obviously it is because of the number of incidents. The percentage doesn't matter because each and every life lost is priceless.

    2. Here's a thought experiment for you from an ethics textbook:

Should airlines require young children to sit in child seats?

After all, in a crash, the chances of survival are higher if the child is in a safety seat. Every life is precious, yes?

Except what will happen is that since this requires parents to pay for an additional seat, more families will drive instead of fly. Driving is more dangerous than flying, and more children will die in car wrecks thanks to the reflexive effort to save one precious life.

    3. That comparison is as ridiculous as mine involving meteorite strikes. The only difference is mine is purposely ridiculous to make a point. Yours is serious to justify the accepting of 8 kids a day getting killed.

    4. Mikeb, your proposals would disarm a lot of good people. They would lose the option to defend their lives with a firearm. And then there's the loss of freedom. You care nothing about that, of course.

    5. Greg, if I cared nothing about that I'd be pushing for total civilian disarmament. But I'm not. As I've said before, given the right set of circumstances I'd own a gun myself. I think some people should, if they want.

    6. Mikeb, what makes you think that anyone will trust your stated intentions or wishes? I don't believe you. You're fooling no one.

  2. Why do you feel children need to be locked up?

  3. What are the number of shootings? What does it matter the number of guns? Are you saying the sheer number of guns means we have to accept a certain number of deaths? How many deaths per 1000 guns is acceptable?

  4. Gun makers and gun nuts couldn't give two shits. They both love when people die by guns because it increases gun sales.

    1. Lies. We just know that gun control won't solve the problem.

    2. It seems you are correct. Greg's responses just in the last few posts, proves that.

    3. No, Greg, you know quite the opposite. But, being an unabashed liar in order to be true to your cause, you just say there's nothing that can be done. You know better.

    4. I know nothing of the kind, Mikeb, and you're the liar to keep claiming that I do.

    5. Since it is a proven fact gun control has worked in America's history, Greg is lying.

    6. No such thing has been proved. We're at a decades-long low in rates of violence, and our gun laws are much looser than they have been in a long time in most states.

    7. I forgot. In Greg's world the History of America is only decades
