Local news reports

A federal judge sentenced a 43-year-old Chattanooga man to 15 years on Thursday for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Darien Houston had 23 felony convictions on his criminal record before pleading guilty to the most recent charge in January.
Chattanooga police searched Houston's home in May 2012 and found a .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver, a criminal violation due to his status as a felon.
Houston admitted he knew that the gun was in his home, according to a U.S. Attorney's Office release.

  1. Yes, just an ordinary guy.

"A Chattanooga man who prosecutors say has 40 prior convictions, including 23 felonies, was sentenced on Thursday to 15 years in federal prison.
Darien Houston, 43, appeared before Judge Curtis Collier.
Prosecutor Chris Poole had asked for the high end of the range - 220 months, saying Houston is a member of the Vice Lords gang. He said the felonies include burglary, possession of cocaine for resale, possession of marijuana for resale, felony escape, forgery, theft of property and concealing stolen property, among others."

    1. But maybe he had just turned his life around and had the gun for home defense, like a lot of people.

    2. Oh, please. The real question is why was this thug wandering around in public. How many crimes does a person have to commit before we can acknowledge that he's a problem?
