Those are the same type of cotton gloves used to handle a Stradivarius violin or a parchment with Cleopatria's diary written on it. Are these gun fetishists a riot or what?Thousands of area firearms collectors, enthusiasts and hunters perused and purchased antique pistols, hunting gear, a gold-finished rifle and more during the Sunrise Lions Club's annual Gun Show at the Las Cruces Convention Center on Saturday.
Mikeb, you just stated the reason for the gloves. The object in question is old and can be damaged by the oils on human skin. It has nothing to do with being a fetish object. Don't be deliberately idiotic, please.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is worth 3 grand, for chrissakes. It's not a priceless artifact.
DeleteThree thousand dollars is a lot of money, these days, but this artifact is getting the same treatment that an old painting or book or similar would receive. It's just standard practice for anything that can be damaged by being touched.

ReplyDeleteWhich are the same reasons they wear them while handing old, guns. Natural oils from your fingers are destructive.
That's bullshit. This is an example of hyper-fetishism, pretending the rifle is super valuable. It isn't.
