Jewish Groups Ban Concealed Carry

Our friend over at the 2nd Amendment, Shooting & Firearms Blog is still claiming that the Jewish disarmament of the Jews by the Nazis had something to do with their troubles.

I suggested he expand his reading a bit.

This is really sad and hard to comprehend in my mind especially after the disarmament tactics that were employed prior to the Jewish Extermination in Nazi controlled territory during WWII.

Here's the story which prompted this bleating. Jewish groups ban concealed weapons.

Please tell me there are some reasonable gun-rights supporters out there who do not believe this nonsense. It's really not necessary in order to resist gun registration in the US, for the obvious reason that it's ridiculous. The pro-gun person that proffers this nonsense as a reason for refusing gun registration runs the risk of sounding paranoid. It would imply registration leads to confiscation and that would be followed by what, another Holocaust, but this time of Americans, former gun owners and Conservatives?  Is that the thinking?

No, I can't believe people, seemingly intelligent people, really believe that. I suspect it's just part of their no-holds-barred arguing style. Some of them may be dumb enough to actually buy it, but most know better, but being totally bereft of a sense of fair and square debating, they keep saying it anyway.

What's your opinion?  Please leave a comment.

  1. "In a discussion of the Wisconsin Jewish groups’ policies in a telephone interview Nov. 15, Heller said, “To be morally consistent, [the organizations] must immediately stop supporting Israel.” There, he said, synagogues allow firearms inside.

The policy actually increases the danger to congregations, Heller said, adding that posting a sign is tantamount to “putting a bull’s eye on the congregation.”

    'Nuff said.

  2. No, I don't believe a majority of people really believe it will lead to another Holocaust. My thoughts are if the congregations mentioned in the article want to post signs banning firearms, it is their right.

I think it's sad there are some on the pro-gun side who would stoop to the tactics they accuse the anti-gun side, ie. emotional reasoning and arguments

  3. A Shoah or a tyranny here in the United States? Well, we did do some terrible things to Native Americans and African slaves, but I hope that we've learned the lesson, despite the article posted about the swimming pool. The real challenge is that we have to decide how much government power and intrusion in our lives we will accept. That's what the debate over gun registration is about.

It is some of them, MANY of them.

You're obviously not muslim, buddhist, Santariaist or any of a number of other religions that are routinely discriminated against in both public and private venues. You're not (obviously) brown either, so you probably have no idea what it's like to be one of the "out" group.

  5. Democommie,

I try to be hopeful about America. We have problems to work out, absolutely, but we also have good principles to guide us.

  6. With no hopers like Greg running around, it's hard to be hopeful for the States.

George H.W. Bush saw the destruction of one superpower.

His son, Dubya, didn't want to be outdone and worked to destroy the other one.

I'm curious as to what will come from the ashes!

IOW, Greg Camp mumbles nonsense and then follows it up with more nonsense. You're a fucking idiot who knows nothing about history in the U.S. relative to the penchant that the KKKristians have for demonizing anyone who's not them and the reichwing's virulent hatred of immigrants of whom they do not approve.

  8. Democommie,

Have you ever taken a close look at all the hatred that you spew regularly here? You call me a liar; you tell me that I'm an idiot; you accuse me of wanting to kill someone, and yet you're the one who can't make a comment that isn't oozing with vitriol.

  9. GC, what you call 'hatred' I think can be explained as understandable frustration with what appears to be your chronic intellectual dishonesty, and what appears to be at time willful ignorance.

  10. Dog Gone,

So you're excusing cursing, personal insults, false claims, and other forms of rude behavior? I guess it's all's fair as long as it's on your side.

  11. I never excuse false claims, nor do I believe my co-bloggers have made any.

As to the rest, I put that in the context of provocation.

  12. The Jewish kids I grew up with in Elizabeth New Jersey in the 50s and 60s were better educated than the rest of us. Innate intelligence probably varied in each group, but their training was far superior. I believe that translates into the fact that mostly they're doctors and dentists and professional people who are Democrats and for gun control today.

Well, gee, Greg, it's not "hatred", actually. It's disdain. I don't give a fuck whether you live or die, I really don't.

You have said, more than once, that you WILL kill someone whose behavior you deem to be a threat to your person or property. I'm not making shit up, I'm basing it on your self-report.

You are a FUCKING LIAR, your repeated clumsy and obvious lies are a matter of record. When they are pointed out to to you, you either ignore the comment that points them out, whine about being misunderstood (which you are not) or simply double down on teh burnin' stoopit.

I make many comments here and on other blogs which are devoid of rancor. The fact that virtually every comment I make in reply to some bit of rancid stupidity that an asshole like you proclaims as a universal truth is directly and causally linked to your ignorance, pomposity and pedantry.

When you stop being an asshole with seriously dangerous delusions of grandeur and an inflated (and underserved) sense of proficiency in areas in which you lack expertise--then you'll stop being called, at least by me, an asshole. I don't seem my stopping the invective anytime soon, you're too fucking stupid to realize that you're an asshole, even when it's laid out in unambiguous speech. Asshole.
