That's just tasteless, Mikeb. Shame on you. I met Gracie, thanks to an offensive article here, and what I've seen is a smart woman who does good work. Shame on you.
Democommie, you're a jackass. My feelings weren't hurt. I found the "dedication" to be in bad taste. I'm curious--do you have any redeeming qualities whatsoever?
"Democommie, you're a jackass. My feelings weren't hurt. I found the "dedication" to be in bad taste. I'm curious--do you have any redeeming qualities whatsoever?"
This question comes from a guy who thinks that shooting people who he's scared of is a noble trait.
Gee, Greggie, when I find myself in need you being the arbiter of my behavior and morals, I'll fucking shoot MYSELF.
Despite the fact that you've made a false statement, I won't call you a liar. Senile? Absolutely, but not a liar. I have no wish to shoot anyone, and I certainly am not scared. As for you shooting yourself, that's your decision, but not one that I'm advocating.
I don't know, Greg. I think the poster for that film, in a sort of brash way, depicts all the character traits that Gracie exhibits in her subtle way. Tough looking chicks who talk tough are a real turn on for many wannabe tough guys. You don't think she's aware of that and is trying to capitalize on it?
I haven't seen the film and don't want to, but a little looking informed me that it's about bank robbers. Thanks to your outrageous article about a rape victim here, I found Gracie's website, and I've been reading and commenting there ever since. She's like a lot of women these days--she does the job that she wants to do, without feeling the need to ask a man's permission to do it. But talking about rights does have a way of making people get uppity. Hell, we might even start letting blacks learn how to read and letting women vote if this continues.
Mikeb, generally, I find you to be a decent person, if hugely misguided, but on this matter, you're not just wrong. You're being ugly. Does Gracie's personal appearance justify an attack on her? Or is it that you just can't stand a woman doing something that you want no one to do?
First of all, Gracie is not like a lot of women these days. Her type on the gun scene is as rare as hen's teeth.
As far as my being ugly, I don't know about that, that's your opinion. Am I being ugly when I suggest that gun owners are mainly insecure and frightened men who need guns to feel normal?
Why is it any more "ugly" for me to question her real motives?
I wouldn't mind except you guys who preach guns are doing a great disservice to the country and yourselves and the other people around you. I belong to that last category, at least sometimes, and I take it personally.
Yes, you question our motives too. That's rude as well, but we're here to defend ourselves. You're likely wrong about both, so really, we're just trying to help you not to look a fool in public. You ascribe motives because you don't like what we do, not on evidence, since you've met none of us in real life, to my knowledge.
But as to what we do and what we advocate, we believe ourselves to be doing good for all of the above. We have good reasons for that opinion. Gracie teaches people to own and use firearms correctly as her profession, so far as I'm aware, and many of us write on the subject regularly. But we'll see how things turn out.
"Despite the fact that you've made a false statement, I won't call you a liar. Senile? Absolutely, but not a liar. I have no wish to shoot anyone, and I certainly am not scared."
So, you're denying that you've said that you would kill someone for being a "threat" to you (you being the sole arbiter of what the "threatening behavior" is? And you've denied that those actions you would take in killing someone aren't necessary and admirable in your peer group and society at large. BTW, Greggie, if you're not afraid of people how might they be "threatening"?
Democommie, you're an ass. I've said that I would defend myself against an attack on my life. I've clarified that statement for you time and again. Why should I expect that explaining it to you one more time will make a difference?
