arma virumque cano (et alia)
A typical scene with typical gun nuts.
Why do you feel that your racist smears are acceptable? You know nothing about those people, other than a couple of details. If they were black and you made the same kind of remark, many would launch into a fury--and rightly so. You don't know that they are nuts. The woman could be someone whose ex-husband has threatened her. Hell, she could be Dog Gone, for all we know. Dog Gone got a gun when she was threatened, and she's never shown us her actual face. Besides, the man in the black ballcap in the background could be Hispanic or mixed race. Now are you comfortable making racist comments?
I'll tell you one reason for that sarcastic post. Obese people who think owning guns is gonna save them are even more delusional than the rest of you. Part of responsible gun ownership and management is to be able to move, perhaps retreat in a hurry, perhaps run towards a situation. Fat people can't do it, which makes them irresponsible from the get go.
Mikeb, what about a person in a wheelchair? Does that person not have the right for practical self defense? Being in athletic shape is a good thing in many ways, but people who aren't at healthy weight do not give up their right to defend themselves from an attack. Private citizens have no duty to run to a dangerous scene, and in many states, they have no duty to run away. Physical inability negates the duty to retreat, anyway.
That's curious coming from you Baldr. Every picture that I have seen of you certainly does not scream out "healthy" or "fit". Maybe you should take a good look at yourself before throwing twinkies at glass houses.
You guys crack me up. I said nothing about race or fatness in my comment, yet you feel fine with displacing your own biases on those issues to my statement. Says a lot about you.
I really try to avoid replying to comments made by you, Baldr...But your original comment doesn't leave anything to the imagination as to the true meaning within the context of this post. You can dance around it all you want..But as greg said, you know *nothing* about those people..How about stowing the stupid, useless comments..You have your own blog to leave those on.
Man from Oregon, you commented on an article titled, "Fat White Men and Women." Your comment was, "A typical scene with typical gun nuts." Are you completely stupid, or do you lack the courage to stand by what you say?
OK Baldr, please tell us what you were referring to then.
And no response from Baldr. I'm not surprised that he is having trouble justifying his statement.
Don't expect to hear from the Oregonian on this subject again. Whenever anyone calls him on his nonsense, he turns tail and runs away.
Happy Patriot's Day, the day we celebrate our first battle against gun control at Lexington and Concord.the real orlin sellers
Baldr actually doesn't say anything about the people's girth, BMI or melaninization, so who is drawing inferences or a racist nature? "Happy Patriot's Day, the day we celebrate our first battle against gun control at Lexington and Concord."Wrong. Patriots Day was on Monday, the 16th of April--that's why the IRS allowed people to file on the 17th without penalty.Wrong, again. The British Army went to Lexington and Concord to seize arms that were being stored by the colonial authorities, not by individuals--one of those things that Type 2A's always conflate in their favor when revising history.
Uh, Democommie, the 16th of April was Emancipation Day in D.C., the anniversary of the emancipation of some slaves within the District.
Lexington was on the 19th, not the effing third Monday in April. Stupid government idea for an undeserved three day weekend. Patriots celebrate the 19th.Dc, you might wanna work on your comprehension and reading what I actually wrote instead of filling your mind with delusional thoughts of not being a half-wit. See if you can find the word 'individual' in my comment. the real orlin sellers
I think we need to bring out another photo of the hairy guy in the obscene speedo-esque outfit, who likes to take his own picture with his guns in what looks to be the glamorous setting o fhis mom's basement, despite being at least in his mid-30's or older, judging by the distinctly receding hairline. This is a great photo, mikeB. I'm on to a new entry in the 'Armed while Old and White, Flabby and Crabby' series on the misanthropic out-of-shape geezer gun nuts.Maybe Laci or Democommie will share it here as well. The posts in the series are getting a lot of traction, no doubt because they focus on the pathetic reality of the typical gun nut, and not the fantasy life to which they so desperately cling.
