Police say shoppers at a Phoenix Wal-Mart store were sent into a panic after a man accidentally shothimself in the leg.
Phoenix police spokesman James Holmes says a male shopper's gun, which was at his hip, went off around 10:30 a.m. Saturday at a Wal-Mart near 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
Holmes says Wal-Mart managers evacuated the store, which was shut down for a short time.
Holmes says the man is not facing any charges.
Thank God those idiots weren't carrying their guns in stores when my family visited with our young dogs in 2006. Phoenix was miserable, but great Mexican seafood. On our way into the mountains, we went through a summer lightning storm. We stayed at The Trout House in Forest Houses, along Oak Creek. The creek flowed right by the nicely furnished house. It had concrete floors and lots of fans. It was built to be enjoyed in the summertime. I got a video of the pups fighting in the creek. Swam in the West Fork. Ate apples off of a tree. Looked for Indian faces in the cliffs. Raced the Pink Jeep tour guides out in the desert on the way to the Indian ruins. And had a barbecue with John McCain in Sedona. Just kidding. We were smoking marijuana and playing scrabble. On the way out, we stopped at a Navajo trading post in a light mist. I bought an original Benjamin Piaso turquoise bracelet for Mrs. Junior. A stop in Flagstaff for supplies and we were off to the Grand Canyon. One of the best summer trips I ever had in the West.

This is why companies should have a no guns allowed policy. The loss of business is not worth the problems caused, and how much business will they lose if these incidents chase people away.
