Jim Wright on Republicans

via Rants from the Rookery from Stonekettle Station.

What I really wanted to ask is this: Proud American? Really? What is it exactly that you’re proud of? You say you love your country? You say you love the United States? Really? Which part? What is it that you love about it? Specifically, what exactly do you love about America?

Because, see, so far as I can tell, people like you seem to hate just about everything that makes the United States what it is.
This is a wonderful post. What do you think?

  1. He nailed it - perfectly. Brilliant!

The only thing missing was a mention of how much they 'love' the constitution - while proposing more attempts to change it by way of constitutional amendments, and not to just tweek it to fix small things, but to change it drastically to something entirely different:

  2. Gotta love the "First" that does not require me to listen as much as the "Second".....which says that you cannot force me to listen.....

  3. Gotta despise the hypocritical utterly inconsistent and contradictory positions evidenced by the bumper stickers on that truck.

You have a crazy, at best unconventional understanding of the constituional amendments Anonumbass........(which is to say a WRONG understanding) to put it euphemistically.

  4. Please, please, please, dog gone,

Show me anywhere in the First Amendment a line in the that requires any form of my attention to the sputtering of madmen or women.

    I'll wait.

The first protects your freedom to speak whatever it does not force me to listen.

The second means that you cannot force me to listen.
